Pace Yourself!

Do you find yourself running from point A to point B at 100 mph?  I want to say take a moment to stop and just breathe.  Not everything has to be done this very minute.  It’s not safe mentally or physically to try and squeeze 25 hours worth of activity into a 24 hour day!
Something I have found that works for me.  Every morning while I’m getting ready for work I take about 5 minutes to write down my daily goals….not a laundry list of things that should be done but a simple list of things I’d like to (or need to) get done today.  Don’t put so many things on the list that you set yourself up for failure.
Once I write down what I need to do today, I can then prioritize how I’m going to accomplish them.  Maybe if there are a few errands to run I can mentally map out my driving course so that I’m more efficient in getting those errands finished which saves me more time to complete other tasks.
Remember, pace yourself.  Life is a marathon, not a sprint.

It's okay to put yourself first!

Many of my clients are women.  They are Executives, Stay at home Moms, Business Owners, Administrators (the list goes on) and they are BUSY.  I often hear how they drive an hour to work (each way), work 8 to 10 hours a day, cook, clean, do laundry, feed the kids, drive the kids to the multiple activities they are involved with......BUSY!!

For some reason women believe that if we put ourselves somewhere on the priority list we will somehow be letting someone else down.  I'm here to say, go ahead and put yourself first on that priority list.  If you don't take care of your health, your wellness, your state of mind, how can you take care of everyone else?

Life has to have balance and it's not selfish to say I want an hour to myself 3 times a week so I can work out, recharge and be a stronger, happier and healthier person.  It wasn't until I started taking care of myself that I became whole.  I became more energized in my daily tasks and my outlook changed from negative to positive.

Give it a shot, put yourself at the top of the list this week.  Do something that is for you.... ONLY YOU.
